Peptide Sequencing

Peptide Sequencing

Service Details

Introduction

Peptides play an important role in human physiological processes. Its high selectivity, efficacy, relative safety and good tolerance determine that peptide drugs play an important role in drug research and development (R&D). Both peptides and proteins are made up of amino acids, the basic building blocks of the human body, held together by peptide bonds. Their difference is that peptides are made up of chains of amino acids that are smaller than proteins. Peptides contain two or more amino acids and can be subdivided into oligopeptides and polypeptides, oligopeptides contain a small number of amino acids (about 2-20 amino acids), and polypeptides contain more amino acids. In general, polypeptides are composed of 2 to 50 amino acids, while proteins are composed of 50 or more amino acids. Polypeptide drug research has great potential, such as the discovery of new peptides, more targeted peptide libraries and sequences optimization design, research and development of new formulations, research and development of multifunctional peptides and complexes, etc. To achieve these, the identification of polypeptides and the analysis of polypeptide sequences are the first steps to promote research.

Our Services

Creative Proteomics provides two kinds of peptide sequencing services that are database search and Peptide De Novo Sequencing. For peptides less than 30 amino acids, we directly perform secondary fragmentation to obtain the original mass spectrometry data to deduce the peptide sequence. The theoretical sequence is obtained by means of library or de novo sequencing. For longer peptides (>30 amino acids), we will use several kinds of proteases to digest and identify the target peptides respectively, and at the same time obtain fragmented peptide fragments, after splicing between peptides Complete the 100% determination of the peptide sequence, that is, by de novo sequencing. In addition, for partial peptide mixtures, we also use de novo sequencing for sequence analysis.

Our Technical Advantages

  • The combination of HCD and ETD is adopted to ensure the integrity of the fragmented peptide fragments in the process of peptide fragmentation.
  • Peptide sequences < 30 amino acids are generally deducedby the database or de novo de novo sequencing to parse the raw data.
  • Peptide sequences >30 amino acids are generally deduced by de novo sequencing to parse the raw data.

At Creative Proteomics, we provide high quality peptide sequence analysis services based on mass spectrometry platforms and peptide de novo sequencing services to boost your peptide drug discovery journey. In additional, we also provide customized services according to your requirements. We have helped several companies and institutions achieve interesting results in the past years. If you are interested in our services, please feel free to contact us, and we look forward to working with you.
