Glycoprotein Structure Analysis Services

Service Details

Protein glycosylation is a functionally important but very complex type of post-translational modification. Therefore, comprehensive characterization of glycan structures and their site-specific locations on proteins at the proteomic scale remains an experimental challenge. Glycosylation, an essential post-translational modification of proteins, plays a role in a variety of biological processes such as controlling protein folding, regulating immune responses, and mediating interactions between host cells and enzymes, antibodies, receptors, and various pathogens. Glycosylation, which is typically low in abundance in biological systems, exhibits dynamic changes not only in the size and composition of glycan chains, but also in sialylated linkages. Mass spectrometry is a high-throughput method and provides a useful tool to decipher these dynamically changing structural details to understand the function of protein glycosylation.

Our Services

Glycoproteins are trypsinized to produce aglycosylated peptides and glycopeptides. Glycopeptides, deglycosylated or aglycosylated peptides targeting glycoproteins can be analyzed by MS. To support glycoprotein engineering researchers, Creative Proteomics offers mass spectrometry platform-based technologies to analyze glycoprotein structure.

Creative Proteomics provides the following glycoprotein structure analysis services but not limited to.

  • LC-MS/MS peptide mapping analysis: Peptide mapping, including N- and C-terminal sequences, was performed using enzymatic digestion and mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS, LC-MS, and LC-NSI-MS/MS).
  • Amino acid sequence verification.
  • Post-translational modification mapping.
  • Oxidation, deamidation, glycosylation mapping.
  • N-Terminal sequence for n-terminal truncations.
  • Quantitative glycosyl composition.
  • Glycan sequencing.
  • Glycan analysis.

*Note: We also offer custom analysis services. For special requirements, please contact us for project discussion.

Why Choose Us?

  • Accuracy and consistency: Minimize batch-to-batch variation.
  • Specificity: Specific quantification of glycosylated proteins.
  • High sensitivity: Very small amounts of glycoproteins can be test.
  • Bioinformatics: Most glycopeptide analysis is done through manual data interpretation, but we also use a number of software for our data analysis.
  • Professional advice: Professional advice from our glycoproteomics scientists
  • Fast turnaround: A full analysis report for you in 1 week.
  • Customized service: Customize the most economical and most suitable research plan according to your requirements and projects.

Which Sample Types Can be Analysed?

  • 2D gel spots, SDS-PAGE bands.
  • Animal and clinical tissue specimens.
  • Serum, plasma and saliva.
