Glycoprotein Analysis Services

Service Details

Introduction

Glycoproteins are proteins with oligosaccharide moieties that emerge after glycosylation during post-translational or co-translational modifications of proteins. Glycoproteins play critical roles in cellular metabolism and function, including cell signaling, cell adhesion, the immune system, pathogenicity, occurrence and progression of metabolic diseases, and biomarkers for diseases such as cancer. With the rapid development of protein drugs, glycoproteins have become increasingly important in therapy, including tissue plasminogen activator for myocardial infarction and stroke, erythropoietin for anemia, and various mono cancer therapy with cloned antibodies. However, the study of glycoproteins is extremely difficult due to the complexity of the structure of sugar chains on proteins and their derivatives.

In recent years, the advent of glycoproteomics based on mass spectrometry (MS) technology has provided a huge opportunity for the analysis of glycoproteins, which has become a powerful tool to determine glycoproteins due to its outstanding features, including sensitivity, stoichiometry, specificity and speed, which facilitates the identification of the glycoproteins, glycosylation sites and structures of glycans.

Our Services

Glycoproteins are widely used in biomedicine, but the complexity of sugar chains and their carbohydrates makes glycoprotein analysis a great research challenge. With years of mass spectrometry experience and first-class detection technology, Creative Proteomics has successfully developed a mass spectrometry-based glycoprotein analysis platform to help customers comprehensively advance glycoprotein research. We look forward to being your partner in your glycoprotein research journey.

At Creative Proteomics, our highly skilled staffs employ a combinatorial approach to characterize these compounds. Throughout the service cycle, the glycoprotein of interest undergoes enzymatic digestion to release the glycopeptide. The resulting glycopeptides are then isolated and used for various mass spectrometry studies. We offer a variety of mass spectrometry methods for identifying a wealth of structural information about glycopeptides by performing these analyses on glycopeptides.

To support glycoprotein engineering researchers, Creative Proteomics provides mass spectrometry-based technologies for glycoprotein detection and glycoprotein quantification. The services we provide include but are not limited to.

Glycoprotein structures are complex containing multiple glycan forms. We provide efficient protein structure characterization services through different techniques for different aspects of glycan and protein structures, including enzymatic digestion, mass spectrometry (MS), matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) )-MS, liquid chromatography systems, etc.

As a basic post-translational modification of proteins, glycosylation plays an important role in many physiological and pathological processes, and is involved in a variety of diseases. For glycoforms in glycosylated proteins, we provide high-quality glycan profiling services that can captures information about target glycans in a fast, sensitive, and high-throughput manner and perform relative quantitative detection of them.

Glycosylation is of great significance in the development of biopharmaceuticals, and the analysis of glycosylation sites is helpful for further research on glycoproteins. In addition, site-specific glycosylation analysis can elucidate the glycosylation profile of a protein. We provide you with high-quality glycosylation site analysis services through mass spectrometry analysis combined with other means.

Protein glycosylation modification plays a vital role in specific biological processes such as molecular recognition, cell communication, and signal transduction. The analysis of glycosylation sites and glycoforms can help to further elucidate the glycosylation of your glycoproteins features.
