Mixed Lymphocyte Response Assay
Online Inquiry
Mixed Lymphocyte Response (MLR) is primarily used to evaluate the effects of immune-targeted antibody drugs on human primary T-cell function, and to analyze and characterize the extent to which the subject plays a role in T-cell activation mediated by primary APCs. Creative Proteomics has developed a variety of immune-targeted antibody drug assays that are effective in helping our customers to identify the drug's potential immune-activating or inhibitory effects.
Necessity of MLR Assay of Antibody Drugs
MLR assay plays a pivotal role in drug development, specifically in evaluating the immunomodulatory potential of antibody drugs. MLR helps ascertain the ability of these drugs to mediate an immune response by monitoring how the drugs affect the interaction between donor and recipient cells. This information is crucial to predict potential side effects of drugs. It helps prevent severe immune responses that could pose a threat to patient health, guaranteeing enhanced effectiveness and increased safety of antibody drugs.
Our Mixed Lymphocyte Response Assay Service
At Creative Proteomics, we provide professional assay service to help clients analyze the immunogenicity of antibody drugs. Depending on the mechanism of action of the drug to be tested and the purpose of the study, our scientists will provide clients with a variety of cell types from various sources to meet your demands. These include monocytes, immature and mature monocyte-derived dendritic cells (DCs), and plasmacytoid DCs. In addition, our scientists have developed multiple methods to perform MLR assay that can provide customized one-way or two-way MLR assays based on your demands, most commonly T-cell-based MLR. Monocytes are differentiated in vitro into dendritic cells, known as specialized antigen-presenting cells (Mo-DC), by obtaining monocytes from the peripheral blood of a healthy donor. Then, CD3+ T lymphocytes purified from unrelated individuals are isolated and co-cultured, and the T cells proliferate in response to the presence of allogeneic major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules on the surface of the dendritic cells. Potential immune activating or inhibitory effects of antibody drugs can be identified by evaluating the effects of drug modulatory interactions.
