1. Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)
DSC is a method of thermal analysis. Under the condition of programmed temperature rise, the PE is quantitatively analyzed by using the characteristics of the energy difference between the measured sample and the reference material changing with temperature. There are two kinds of DSC, including compensation type and hot flow type.
2. Infrared Spectroscopy (IR)
By using the characteristics that molecules can selectively absorb infrared rays of certain wavelengths, thus causing the transition of vibrational and rotational energy levels, PE can be analyzed through IR. The infrared absorption spectrum of PE can be obtained by testing the absorption of infrared ray. IR has the advantages of rapid test, easy operation, good repeatability, high sensitivity, less sample consumption and simple instrument structure. In the production process, PE powder may be mixed with paraffin wax or polyethylene wax, or even long-chain alkanes, and their infrared spectrum is similar to PE, so Creative Proteomis can combine IR and other detection methods to comprehensive analysis of PE.
3. Phase Analysis of Xray Diffraction (XRD)
The X-ray diffraction pattern of PE has both sharp crystal diffraction line and dispersive halo similar to liquid scattering, which has certain characteristics. The peak height of the two sharp peaks changes with the difference of PE crystallinity, but the position of 2θ angle is fixed.
