Untargeted metabolomics is mainly used to obtain comprehensive biochemical information on metabolism in organisms. It is a simultaneous qualitative and quantitative analysis of almost all metabolites under certain physiological conditions or specific conditions with the means to find and identify differential metabolites. LC-MS-based untargeted metabolomics analysis has been widely used in the fields of disease diagnosis and pathogenesis, drug development, agriculture and plants, microorganisms, and food.
