Metabolite Identification, Profiling & Characterization

The investigation of metabolites play important roles in supporting drug discovery. A diversity of technologies have been employed in the metabolite identification, profiling and characterization. Profiling of metabolite is used to measure the conversion of a compound of interest into its metabolites and intermediates in a biological sample as a result of test systems such as enzymes, hydrolysis, gene modifications and physiological pathways. It studies what effect this compound has on the full set of metabolites in a broader set of biological systems. Moreover, characteristics and structural elucidation of metabolites can help scientists to identify human-specific metabolites. Aiming to address critical issues around biotransformation and drug metabolism, Creative Proteomics focuses on answering those critical questions by using context-driven analytical techniques.
