mutS homolog 2, colon cancer, nonpolyposis type 1 (E. coli)
COCA1; FCC1; HNPCC; HNPCC1; LCFS2
Amino Acid Labeled
[U- 13C6, 15N4]-L-Arg and [U- 13C6, 15N2]-L-Lys
MSH2 Full-Length MS Protein Standard (NP_000242), Labeled with [U- 13C6, 15N4]-L-Arginine and [U- 13C6, 15N2]-L-Lysine, was produced in human 293 cells (HEK293) with fully chemically defined cell culture medium to obtain incorporation efficiency at Creative-Proteomics. This locus is frequently mutated in hereditary nonpolyposis colon cancer (HNPCC). When cloned, it was discovered to be a human homolog of the E. coli mismatch repair gene mutS, consistent with the characteristic alterations in microsatellite sequences (RER+ phenotype) found in HNPCC. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
