Composition Analysis

Composition Analysis, which means comprehensive qualitative/quantitative analysis of specific ingredients in the submitted samples with integrated analytical techniques, is often required for synthesis & manufacture of fine chemicals & chemical reagents. In order to make it, it usually needs a series of analytical instruments & devices for ingredient profiling and accurate quantification. The analytical laboratory of Creative Proteomics has established integrated analytical facilities including the following analytical techniques:

Spectroscopy (UV, IR, NMR)

Chromatography(LC, GC, IC)

Mass Spectrometry(MS, MS/MS, GC-MS & LC-MS)

Fluorescence Spectrometer


The molecular structures of detected ingredients would be identified with one analytical instrument, and verified by other platforms; then the corresponding concentrations of verified chemicals in complicated chemical reagents would be determined by quantitative analysis. Based on the description of the fine chemicals from our clients, the technical support can issue & develop the optimal analytical proposal. Generally, the typical analytic proposal would be performed in the following steps:

 Composition Analysis

Sample Fractionation

the chemical samples would be analyzed with Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy(FT IR) & Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy(NMR), and the components would be explored, estimated & sorted;

Fraction Analysis

the consequent analytic protocols would be prepared for different fractions;

Compound Profiling

the information from different fractions would be combined & validated, and experimental spectra would be isolated for comparison with standard spectra in database,such as chemical structural database(including 2,200,000 compounds), and UV spectra database(including 150,000 compounds) and MS spectra database (including 12,000 compounds);

Component Quantification

the accurate compositions of identified ingredients would be determined if required.

Because the Composition Analysis can offer qualitative/quantitative description of the samples, it’s widely applied for deformulation & quality control of chemical reagents, and diagnostics of quality problem.
